North Walsham in Bloom have, in the last week been very saddened to find that the sponsor sign in the Church Cross bed has been badly vandalised. The whole thing had been forced from the ground despite being set in a whole bag of Postmix. This added to the considerable amount of dog mess we found on the Cross when we went to work last Tuesday, has made some of us wonder why we bother. But of course, we will still bother, and once the sign is replaced – as it will be – we will get back to once again “Brightening Your Town”.
This, coupled with further abuse from a certain individual regarding the Post Office bed has not made for a very good start to 2018 for all our supporters.
Still, the Post Office site is coming along well and has now had the webbing laid to stop the weeds and we hope to have the stone down in this next week.
We are also looking into the possibility of having a new large square container on the Norwich Road near the Persimmon Housing development, this has yet to be agreed with Norfolk Highways Dept., but we are ever hopeful. We will of course be looking for a sponsor for this prime site when all the details are settled.
I would like to thank all our sponsors and helpers at this point as without all of you we would not exist, and North Walsham would not be the pretty town it is today.
